This large printable map features cobbled roads in an irregular pattern inspired by real cities. The details are sharp, and it's designed to be the perfect complement to my collection of paper models, giving you a beautiful surface for building your own bustling town or ruined village. It's easy to print in one piece at your local shop, or in sections on your desktop printer. An optional 1-inch grid is included.

Contents:

  • PDF: 42"x60" full map
  • PDF: 42"x60" full map with 1 inch grid

  • PDF: Map divided into 36 sections with 1 inch grid for US letter (8.5"x11") paper
  • PDF/JPG/PNG: Section guide showing each of the 36 numbered sections for easy reference

Dimensions: The full map is 42x60 inches / 106x152cm. You can print off individual sections as well, which are 7x10 inches fitted onto both A4 and US letter size sheets for your convenience. The optional grid is set up as 1 inch squares, and is perfectly suited for RPGs and wargames that use a 1 inch = 5 foot scale (28mm/30mm), and you can always adjust the printed size to virtually any gaming scale.

This map is printed on several sheets if paper. Is there slight overlap between each page to help you stick them together?
I have another one of these where there is no overlap at all. It is virtually impossible to get every page to line up perfectly, so there there are long thin gaps showing on may joins. (The other one is not from Dave Graffam Models.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
